First Impressions

We entered their North York location around 7pm in the evening, and as soon as we walked in their place, you can definitely smell the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. You are immediately greeted by a big wall clock and a comfy single chair which is perfect for pictures. All the pictures you see from the internet is what it really is.
Desserts on the Menu
First of all, I really appreciate how they incorporate local artists in the cover of their food menus. They collaborate with local artists to change their food menus, they usually change the cover based on the season. We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of their Winter 2024 cover made by Nicolle Lalonde.

All of the desserts served in Demetres are visually appealing, whatever was promoted in the internet is what you really get. It’s crafted to perfection. Everything also tastes as good as it sounds but make sure you share whatever you order as they give big servings. The desserts we ordered are the tongue depressor, wolf of waffle street, and choc this way.

- Tongue Depressor: This dessert really depressed your tongue as the overall chocolate flavor can be overwhelming. The brownie with the chocolate ice cream was a little bit too much but perfect combination with the waffle
- Wolf of Waffle Street: This dessert was by far the most easiest dessert to eat as it’s not too big and too powerful. A dribble of chocolate syrup makes it perfect for a quick snack
- Choc This Way: This can be your typical morning waffle as the strawberry with chocolate syrup makes it very energizing breakfast. It also has whipped cream which makes it very compatible with the waffle and strawberry.
Service and Atmosphere
I really like the overall vibe of the restaurant, it seems very chill and lively. I would say that the aesthetics of the place is what really makes it stand out across all the dessert places around Toronto. I felt like the energy in the restaurant relies on their people and their customers. The only thing that made our stay a little off is that the service was kinda slow but it’s understandable as we entered the place a little later. Every Demetres location has their own different aesthetic, so make sure to visit their other locations.
Final Thoughts
Overall, this place is definitely dished. Especially for those people who wanted to satisfy their sweet tooth. This can also be a place where you have your midnight snack as they are open until midnight which makes it the perfect place to satisfy your cravings.
